EVERETT, Wash. – Growing your own healthy, sustainable food — whether on an apartment deck or on many acres — is the focus of the 10-class Growing Groceries series that starts Oct. 18 at the Washington State University Snohomish County Extension Cougar Auditorium, 600 128th St. SE, Everett, inside McCollum Park.
PULLMAN, Wash. – Two WSU faculty members, Chad Kruger and Jessica Willoughby, were recognized by Provost Dan Bernardo at the Sept. 2 WSU vs. Montana State football game for their outstanding contributions as faculty members.
SNOHOMISH, Wash. – The fall course series, “Sustainable Small-Acreage Farming and Ranching,” will begin Sept. 18 and, for the first time, simulcast to three locations near Stanwood, Enumclaw and Vashon Island.
It is estimated that 75 percent of contamination in the Puget Sound is unwittingly produced by citizens — via commercial wastewater, sewage treatment plants, stormwater runoff from roads and paved surfaces, construction and other activities.
