Research nets $400,000 for companies, universities

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Washington Technology Center awarded more than $400,000 in funding support to nine companies across the state to help support its research and development programs. Three of those involve Washington State University research efforts.Each year through its Research and Technology Development program, WTC awards more than $1 million to joint-research projects between university researchers and companies in Washington. Portal opens to 7,500

Washington State University’s myWSU portal, which began early testing in August, will expand services Nov. 1 to approximately 7,500 people. Participants will include instructors on all campuses and students taking classes that use The Bridge and WebCT learning environments. MyWSU will be in full production by January 2004 and available to students, faculty and staff throughout the WSU system.MyWSU is a personalized Internet environment where users can access customized information by using a Network ID and password for sign-in. My, My, My! In the near future, you can forget My Yahoo, put aside My Excite, drop My MSN, delete My AOL or any other portal system you are using online.
