PULLMAN – The WSU Department of Theatre and Dance will present “End Days” at 7:30 p.m. April 15-17 in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre.
The play is written by Deborah Z. Laufer and directed by theatre professor Terry Converse. Cast members include William C. Stevens, Elinor Gunn, Syleanna Campbell, Dana Bensel, Ray Pritchard and Jared Chastain.

PULLMAN – The WSU Opera Workshop will present “Orpheus in the Underworld” by Jacques Offenbach during Mom’s Weekend, at 8 p.m. April 9 and at 2 p.m. April 10, in Bryan Hall Theatre.
The production is directed by associate professor Julie Anne Wieck, with assistance from Karen Savage as rehearsal accompanist, and Ruth Boden will conduct the WSU Symphony Orchestra. The cast consists of 31 WSU students, lead by Angela Brown as Eurydice, Dillon Robertson as Orpheus, Jordyn Palmer as Calliope, Jared Johnson as Pluto and Zach Peterson as Jupiter.

PULLMAN – Comedian and entertainer Jay Leno will be the Mom’s Weekend entertainment this year on Saturday, April 10.
Leno will perform at 8 p.m. in Beasley Coliseum in the round, providing 11,000 seats.
Tickets for the event go on sale Friday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. at all TicketsWest outlets. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketswest.com or by phone at 1-800-325-SEAT.
All tickets are $45 ($5 discount for WSU staff, faculty and students).
PULLMAN — WSU presented the 2009 Mom of the Year Award to Martha Knight during the annual Mom’s Weekend Brunch on Saturday, April 4. Knight was nominated by her daughter, Aubrey Rehn, a senior at WSU.
A resident of Spokane, Knight was described by her daughter as a strong, intelligent and loving woman with a “desire to learn and better herself that has never stopped.”

PULLMAN — Continuing a long-established tradition, mothers and friends of WSU students will visit the Pullman campus for Mom’s Weekend, April 3-5.
More than 100 activities, exhibits and special programs, including concerts, theater plays, craft fairs and athletic events, are scheduled for the three-day weekend.

Washington State University Chef Jamie Callison and his team edged out the student Dream Team for the second year in a row in a tight Iron Chef WSU competition that featured “secret” ingredients bacon, sweet potatoes and kiwi fruit.Callison, executive chef for WSU’s School of Hospitality and Business Management, won the second annual competition this past weekend with 521 points. Approximately 700 people attended the Mom’s Weekend event at the Gladish Community Center.
