March 6: Singers perform new, Renaissance works

Cottam-singing-110PULLMAN, Wash. – The Madrigal Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will perform music from contemporary and Renaissance eras in a free, public concert at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, in Bryan Hall at Washington State University. Both groups are under the direction of Lori Wiest, professor.

April Fool’s Day concert brings music

PULLMAN – The WSU Madrigal Singers will present a concert of music, skits and laughs on April Fool’s Day, Tuesday, April 1. The free family-friendly event will be held at 8 p.m. in Bryan Hall in the WSU Pullman campus. 

Highlights of the performance will include French dance music, Italian dance songs, English ballads, contemporary music by composers Eric Whitacre, Dominick Argento, and WSU student composer Austin Schlichting, as well as humorous music by P.D.Q. Bach and three popular songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. The Madrigal Singers will also present their version of the story of Robin Hood with audience participation.
