The meeting — which includes an executive session — will take place inside the Elson S. Floyd Cultural Center. The business portion of the retreat will be broadcast live on YouTube.

The Spokane campus is hosting meetings of the WSU Board of Regents this week. Members will participate in commencement-related events at Spokane and Pullman as well.

The visit on March 22 will start with a campus and building tour followed by a panel discussion at 10 a.m. with WSU Everett graduates.

Regents also voted to approve revisions to the university’s undergraduate housing requirement, eliminating an exemption that allowed first‑year students to request an exemption to live in fraternity or sorority houses.

Math Professor Judi McDonald was chosen by Washington Gov. Jay Inslee as a voting member of the WSU Board of Regents from a pool of candidates submitted by the WSU Faculty Senate.

Regents will meet via teleconference beginning at 3 p.m. They are expected to vote on a single action item following an executive session.

It marks the first pay increase for WSU System President Kirk Schulz since he took the job in 2016 and follows his two years of voluntary pay cuts during the COVID‑19 pandemic.

On Tuesday, June 7, regents are scheduled to meet from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the Davenport Grand Hotel in Spokane.

The university’s top lawyer is taking a new systemwide role and will be replaced as division chief by an assistant attorney general who has worked alongside her since 2015.

WSU Regents will gather in Everett beginning at 10:15 a.m. to hear presentations from student clubs as well as for a tour of the campus.
