Aug. 24: Eggert farm tour offers organic farming insights

WSU Organic Farm logoPULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s Eggert Family Organic Farm will host a free farm tour 9 a.m.-noon Thursday, Aug. 24, in coordination with the Moscow Co-op.

The tour is open to the public and will give participants a behind-the-scenes look at one of the co-op’s producers. The tour will cover the orchard, flowers, vegetable production and more.

“The Moscow Co-op has been a consistent partner of the farm since it started operations in 2004, and we are happy to have them as part of this year’s tour,” said Brad Jaeckel, farm manager.

The co-op will provide snacks, but participants should bring water, lunch and a hat for sun protection. Families are welcome but please leave pets at home.

The farm is located on Animal Science Rd., off of Terre View Drive, behind the WSU Bear Research, Education and Conservation Center. The entrance is the first farm gate on the left.

This tour is in place of the farm’s annual July field day.
