BELLINGHAM, Wash – Participants will build skills for caring for their trees at the Puget Sound Forest Owners Field Day, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Alexander Ross Tree Farm 3783 Y Road near Bellingham.
The event location is approximately 15 minutes east of the Mt. Baker Highway exit from I-5.
Washington State University Extension, Whatcom County and Washington Department of Natural Resources, will host the event that features exhibits and hourly wo
rkshops on maintaining healthy trees, native plant ID, protecting homes from wildfire, battling invasive brush, cultivating edible mushrooms, and more.
The cost (including lunch) is $30 per person or $40 per couple before July 10, and $40/$50 until July 20. Participants can register at the event for $50/60. Youth under 18 attend for free. There also is a special student and Master Gardener rate (call for details).

Participants should dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and prepare to walk short distances in forested terrain. Parking, restrooms, coffee, refreshments and drinking water are available on site.
