Nov. 12: Visiting writers hold reading, discuss publishing

Stephanie-Lenox-by-Sabina-Samiee-Oregon-Arts-Commission-webHeather-Hummel-webPULLMAN, Wash. – An award-winning blogger for the Huffington Post and a co-founder of the online literature quarterly Blood Orange Review will read from their work and take questions at a free, public event at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, in the Museum of Art/Washington State University.

At noon that day they will join a public panel discussion with area publishers in the Bundy Reading Room, Avery Hall, to discuss trends and tips.

Stephanie Lenox and Heather K. Hummel also will lead a workshop – about the unique challenges of editing for an online publication – for WSU students in all majors 6-9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 9-11, in CUE 416 and 418.

“These two poets clearly have a vision for online literary publishing,” said Peter Chilson, WSU professor of English. “Students and community will really benefit from their expertise.”

The events are part of the WSU Department of English Visiting Writer Series. Learn more about the series and the two guest writers at https://english.wsu.edu/visiting-writers/.
