Oct. 31: Football comes home to battle for lead in Pac-12 North

Gabe-iconPULLMAN, Wash. – On the heels of three consecutive conference wins, the resurgent Washington State University Cougar football team returns to Martin Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Halloween to battle for the lead in the Pac-12 North against the Cardinal of Stanford University.

By Tuesday, less than 4,500 tickets remained available. Tickets can be ordered by calling 1-800-GOCOUGS.

It’s Reyounion Weekend at WSU, with the classes of 1955 and 1965 celebrating their Diamond and Golden reunions, but all Coug alumni and friends are encouraged to return to campus this weekend, reconnect with old classmates and friends, and cheer on their Cougs as they face the country’s 11th ranked team in a nationally televised game.

Alumni who graduated anytime within the past 10 years are invited to meet at the Brelsford Visitor Center on Friday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. for Coug Up, Pullman, an early tailgate party, where $15 gets you food, drinks, and a commemorative pint glass. Commemorative t-shirts and discounted football tickets will also be available at the event.

Falk-OrThe festivities continue at the Brelsford Visitor Center on Saturday at 1 p.m., with The Cougar Wine Connections Showcase Series, a collection of wine tasting events held before each WSU home football game. Each event features one Cougar-connected winery/wine brand presented by winery representatives who can share the story of their journey from WSU to the world of fine wine. This Saturday’s event will showcase the Barnard Griffin label. The $5 tickets are available at the door and can be applied to the cost of purchasing a bottle of wine. Commemorative glasses are also available while supplies last.

As always on home game weekends, Saturday’s events will include Kickoff at the CUB, featuring food and family-friendly entertainment in a festive atmosphere in the CUB senior ballroom beginning at 4:30 p.m. Attendees can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Palouse from the ballroom balcony, watch football games from around the country, enjoy Butch and the Cougar marching band and participate in numerous giveaways and activities.

The general area of Rogers Field to the west of Martin Stadium will be the site of a number of activities, on Saturday, including Cougar Mania, the corporate tent area; Cougville, a children’s play area complete with activities and inflatables; and the Cougar Den. Food and refreshments are available in all three locations.
