WSU communications student earns national scholarship

Akinlana-SterlingPULLMAN, Wash. – Akinlana Sterling, a senior at Washington State University from Renton, Wash., has been awarded a national 2015 Media Fellows Scholarship by the Washington Media Scholars Foundation.

The foundation, based in the nation’s capital, has provided opportunities for college students to gain firsthand knowledge of public policy advertising and make professional connections with media leaders since 2011.

Sterling, a strategic communication major at WSU Pullman, is one of six men to receive the award this year and the first male student from a Washington state school to achieve the honor. He works in the WSU Office of International Programs.
