Media day Aug. 15 for WSU’s Global Scholars residence hall

PULLMAN, Wash. – Media are invited to Washington State University’s newly constructed Global Scholars residence hall during the campuswide Move-In on Saturday, Aug. 15.

Housing & Residence Life staff will be available on site 10 a.m.–noon for interviews. The WSU Cougar Marching Band, along with mascot Butch T. Cougar, will be available beginning at 10 a.m.

A ribbon cutting and dedication is scheduled for Sept. 17 after the WSU Board of Regents meetings.

Global Scholars Hall is located at 1302 NW Cougar Way, across from Smith Gym and the Lower Soccer Field.

Media are encouraged to film the exterior of the building as well as the interior first floor lobby/recreational lounge, courtyard and Market at Global Scholars Hall, which is available to all WSU students.

The residence hall’s layout and design will contribute to the broader purpose of creating a safe, vibrant, student-centered community. The building’s location will activate the streetscape along NE Cougar Way and encourage connections to the surrounding campus.

Global Scholars Hall will have space for 275 students. It will feature single, double and 4-person suites, along with apartment-style living on the 5th floor.
