Brian Pitcher, former Spokane chancellor, retiring from WSU

PitcherSPOKANE, Wash. – Brian Pitcher, former chancellor of Washington State University Spokane and now WSU’s vice provost for regional programs, is retiring June 1 after more than 10 years in the university’s senior administration.

Pitcher was the provost at the University of Idaho when he was appointed chancellor of the Spokane campus in January 2005 by then-President Lane Rawlins. He served in that position until January 2013 when he became vice provost for regional programs with responsibilities for coordinating WSU academic affairs across all urban branch campuses.

A retirement reception will be held 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, on the fifth floor lobby of the Academic Center. A retirement reception was held last week on the Pullman campus.
