RICHLAND, Wash. – A short re-creation of a live circa 1930s radio broadcast will be part of a free, public discussion about the future of community radio at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the Washington State University Tri-Cities East Auditorium.
The forum is the inaugural event of the Northwest Hall of Radio History
“Evergreen Radio LIVE: Past, Present and Community” is intended to spark a meaningful conversation about what radio means to people now and, in particular, how the medium might respond to and prepare for the future.
Panelists will include Ricardo Garcia of KDNA, Jeff Hansen of KUOW, Tom Mara of KEXP, LPFM advocate Sabrina Roach, Dave Ross of KIRO and Kerry Swanson of Northwest Public Radio. The 1930s radio performance will include actors from Seattle Radio Theatre. Producers are Feliks Banel and Olivia Weitz of the Northwest Hall of Radio History (http://communication.wsu

The Northwest Hall of Radio History is a project of The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. The Hall will explore radio’s innovative past to inspire and inform the future.
