Dec. webinars: Learn to unplug, bake cookies, enjoy the snow

PULLMAN, Wash.—From cookies to winter travel to technology overload, there’s a world of online information available to the public this December through WSU’s Global Connections program, which is part of WSU’s top-ranked Global Campus.

The presentations are all free, live, 30-45 minutes, and let viewers ask questions through online chat. To attend, please select the time and date below, or go to connections.wsu.edu.

The month kicks off with “Growing Up Social” in which author Arlene Pellicane offers strategies for managing your time, and that of your children, amid the constant distraction of social media. 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4

“Improving Your Life With Cookies” features Caroline Edmiston, a WSU Global Campus graduate, retired Seattle lawyer and former pastry chef, who dispenses fun cookie commentary on YouTube under the name Cooki3Fairy. 1 p.m. Dec. 9 and 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15.

“Warm Up To Winter” enlists WSU Outdoor Recreation Center staff member Katelyn Spradley to discuss how to get the most out of the winter season. Break away from the fireplace to learn easy ways to have fun and stay warm outdoors. Noon Dec. 17.

WSU’s Global Connections program was created in 2012 to give online students at WSU Global Campus access to WSU extracurricular resources and events. The program also lets Global Campus students participate in career fairs, research fairs, academic competitions, and the Common Reading Program.
