Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist Luiz Bertelli will discuss how officials dealt with a radiological incident in Goiânia, Brazil that led to four deaths, as part of a Herbert M. Parker Lecture Series on Oct. 21.
Associate Professor Judy Morrison and Assistant Professor Jonah Firestone have been elected to serve as Association of Science Teacher Education board members.
The grants will support students from disadvantaged backgrounds. To qualify for the program, students must be a first‑generation college student, from an economically disadvantaged background or have a documented disability.
The program runs Aug. 17-21 and will feature a series of pre-recorded and live trainings on topics to prepare students for best academic learning virtually. It is open to all WSU students.
The masks will be utilized by students, faculty and staff to ensure a safe return to operations for in-person learning experiences and services on campus.
A WSU Tri‑Cities researcher received a $100,000 grant to test the lignin-based biofuel, which could replace petroleum-based fuels as well as lead to greater performance and reduced emissions.
Visit Tri‑Cities, the area’s visitor and convention bureau, will incorporate the students’ ideas in its future planning, says Michael Novakovich, the president and chief executive officer.
