Elson Floyd honored with Spokane Hall of Fame award

Floyd received posthumously today the newly created Spokane Citizen Impact Award to recognize his contributions to the city of Spokane. He is the first recipient, and the award will be named after him to become the Elson Floyd Impact Award.

WSU historian awarded Guggenheim prize

By Adrian Aumen, College of Arts & Sciences PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University historian Matthew Avery Sutton has been appointed a 2016 Guggenheim fellow “on the basis of prior achievement and exceptional promise.” The fellowship was awarded to 178 scholars in the U.S. and Canada from nearly 3,000 applicants.

March 22: Women of Distinction lunch, symposium, film

PULLMAN, Wash. – Eight women will be honored at the Washington State University 2016 Woman of the Year and Women of Distinction Recognition Luncheon and Symposium. Held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 22, in the CUB ballroom, the theme will be “Working to Form a More Perfect Union: Honoring Women in Public Service and Government.”

Professor recognized nationally for early career research
