Recycle-100PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University will start tracking waste weights for RecycleMania 2015 on Sunday, Feb. 1. A new aspect of the annual challenge will encourage students and employees to earn points by sharing progress on social media.

Garbology-100PULLMAN, Wash. – In “Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair with Trash”—Washington State University’s common reading book for 2014-15—readers learn that the average American throws away about 7.1 pounds of trash every day. Over a lifetime, that’s 102 tons of garbage.

Tri-Cities to vote on new student union building

tri-cities-campusRICHLAND, Wash. — Students at Washington State University Tri-Cities will be one step closer to imagining the possibilities of a student union building when they vote Sept. 16-18 on a $100 per semester fee for its construction. The fee would be ongoing for maintenance and repairs.
