Nov. 4: Western comedian performs ancient Japanese act

By Linda Weiford, WSU News PULLMAN, Wash. – Bleached hair, blue-eyed comedian Katsura Sunshine will give a free standup act – while sitting down – of a centuries’ old Japanese tradition at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre at Washington State University. The performance in English is open to the public.

Nov. 15: Memoir of growing up in the segregated South

By Gail Siegel, WSU Performing Arts PULLMAN, Wash. – A dramatization of the 1943 book “Black Boy,” Richard Wright’s searing autobiography spanning childhood innocence to adulthood in the Jim Crow South, will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Jones Theatre at Washington State University. It is recommended for ages 12 and older.

Oct. 13: Comedy company takes aim at U.S. history

By Gail Siegel, WSU Performing Arts PULLMAN, Wash. – The Reduced Shakespeare Company will career through 600 years of history in 6,000 seconds when “The Complete History of America (abridged): Election Edition” comes to Washington State University at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in Daggy Hall’s Jones Theatre.

Oct. 7, 8: Community kids’ auditions open for ‘Aladdin’

PULLMAN, Wash. – Children of kindergarten through high school age are invited to audition 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, in Jones Theatre at Washington State University’s Daggy Hall for the Missoula Children’s Theatre touring production of “Aladdin.” Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, and 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 8.

Aug. 17-19: Students present stories that shaped their lives
