Sept. 11: Service projects available to students, employees

volunteersPULLMAN, Wash. – A variety of community service projects will be facilitated through Washington State University on Thursday, Sept. 11, in honor of the 9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance. The day commemorates victims, survivors and service personnel who responded to the terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001.

OSO, Wash. – Kendra Knepper’s father was among local firefighters involved in rescue efforts following the devastating mudslide along State Route 530 in March. Now, she’s glad to be involved herself. A criminal justice major at Washington State University, she is one of 10 interns working this summer in communities affected by the powerful landslide.
