Oct. 20: Tableau Software developer to speak on big data revolution

Tableau Software logoPULLMAN, Wash. – Andrew Kass, vice president of product development, platforms and operations at Tableau Software, will speak about the company and its role in the data revolution at a lecture, 1-2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20.

The event will be held in 21 Goertzen Hall on the WSU Pullman campus.

Kass is responsible for server and cloud platforms for the company. He holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in computer science and engineering.

Tableau is a Seattle-based company that helps to transform data so that it is more useful for people. Their products provide their customers — from small businesses to global enterprises — with visual analytics, dashboards and analyses that help people better see, understand and make better use of large amounts of data.

The event is sponsored by the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture and WSU Corporate Relations.
