Joseph Coyne receives AUPHA distinguished service award

Joseph Coyne, WSU Health Policy and Administration

Professor Emeritus Joseph Coyne, with the Department of Health Policy and Administration, WSU College of Nursing, has received the 2016 Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) Distinguished Service Award for his leadership as chair of the Global Faculty Forum during 2014-2016.

The AUPHA http://www.aupha.org/ is a global network of colleges, universities, faculty, individuals and organizations “dedicated to the improvement of health and healthcare delivery through excellence in healthcare management and policy education.”

At AUPHA’s most recent symposium, titled “Global Issues and Challenges in Integrating Practice and Academia,” Coyne brought together academic leaders from Brazil, Mexico, Columbia, The Netherlands, China, Australia and the U.S.

Through his work in this capacity, Coyne developed or expanded international partnerships between AUPHA and several similar organizations globally, including Society for Health Administration Programs in Education in Australia, the European Academy of Management, and an international program in Latin America.
