March 26: WSU chefs part of food bank fundraiser challenge

PULLMAN, Wash. – Matthew Lasof, executive chef for Washington State University Dining Services at Northside Café, will compete against two other local chefs in the Community Action Center’s Chef’s Challenge at 5 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at the Gladish Community Center.

Jamie Callison, executive chef in WSU’s School of Hospitality Business Management, will be the featured guest judge.

Tickets cost $20 at the door and $15 in advance; advance tickets can be purchased at the Community Action Center or online at http://www.cacwhitman.org/event/chefs-challenge-2017/.

The fundraiser for the Community Food Bank will require the chefs to use food bank ingredients, including one that will be a surprise revealed to them at the contest, to create delicious, attractive and healthy dishes within a limited time.
