Dec. 13: Students show professional spirit fashion designs

PULLMAN, Wash. – Student designs for Cougar clothing for professional women will be shown at a free, public presentation 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13, in the CUB junior ballroom at Washington State University.

The event will be live streamed at https://youtu.be/Pe_onjesYFs.

The designs complete a semester project whose goal was to create WSU-branded professional collegiate spirit apparel for women age 30 and up. It was supported by WSU First Lady Noel Schulz (see an earlier article at https://news.wsu.edu/2016/09/01/give-input-professional-coug-wear-sept-14/).

The Department of Apparel Merchandising, Design & Textiles juniors conducted surveys and research, sourced fabrics, designed and created prototypes, fitted model of diverse sizes and managed a budget. Five groups of students will present their designs.

For more information, contact Deborah Christel, AMDT, at deborah_christel@wsu.edu or Noel Schulz, WSU First Lady, at noel.schulz@wsu.edu.
