Volleyball 17th in nation; team plays at home Friday

PULLMAN, Wash. – Coming off a pair of stunning roads wins at then-No. 4 Washington and then-No. 9 UCLA, the Washington State University volleyball team is ranked No. 17 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25 Poll for Week 5 (Sept. 26).

This is first Top 25 ranking since 2009 when the Cougars were 21st, 24th and 25th in Weeks 9, 10 and 11 of the 15-week poll.

The women – 12-2 overall and 2-0 Pac-12 – return to their home court in Bohler Gym to play No. 9 Stanford at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30. View on the Pac-12 Network.

In the Sept. 26 PrepVolleyball.com College Top 50 rankings, WSU is ranked No. 13, up from 31st last week. In other Sept. 26 national rankings WSU is ranked 10th in the Rich Kern Poll, 14th in the Pablo Rankings and 16th in the Massey Ratings.
