Through Oct. 7: Students can apply as orientation counselors

alive

PULLMAN, Wash. – Undergraduate students can apply through Oct. 7 to be paid ambassadors during summer Alive! sessions for new students and their parents. Faculty and staff are encouraged to nominate students for these orientation counselor (OC) positions.

The Office of New Student Programs will host information sessions at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in CUE 316 and at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, in CUE 318.

OCs are paid, get free summer housing and are trained to be familiar with Washington State University resources, academic departments, registration, the Pullman community and campus life. As advocates for student success, OCs will gain new friendships, develop leadership skills and add value to their resumes.

Applicants must be undergraduate students with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and 30 credit hours earned by Jan. 1, 2017. Students can submit applications at http://beanoc.wsu.edu/. Faculty and staff can nominate qualified students at http://beanoc.wsu.edu/faculty-nominate-students/.
