PULLMAN, Wash. – View a mural made of sticky notes of the cover of the common reading book during a cake reception noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Student Involvement office, CUB 320.

4-malalaOver the summer, staff members Susan Butts and Angel Nava spearheaded re-creation of the “I Am Malala” book cover on a wall. The mural will remain there until Sept. 30.

“I like this type of mural process because a lot of people are able to participate in the creation of the work,” Nava said. “It brings people together and has some dynamic results that people might not expect from an everyday object like a sticky note.”

The book by Malala Yousafzai, the youngest recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize, recounts her family’s passion for education in Pakistan, her recovery from a Taliban assassination attempt when she was 15 and her emergence as an international heroine.
