SPOKANE, Wash. – Kimberly Paulson, a student pharmacist at Washington State University, has been appointed to a two-year council term for a national organization. WSU has had eight students serve in this national leadership role in the last seven years, including two as president.
The Student Leadership Council for the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) supports and recognizes future leaders in community pharmacy and entrepreneurship. Paulson, from Rosalia, Wash., earned a bachelor’s degree at WSU, plans to pursue a post-graduate residency in community pharmacy and intends to own an independent pharmacy.
She will represent NCPA student chapters in the West and will be the student representative on the compounding steering committee. That panel addresses education, guidelines and legal and legislative concerns about the practice of pharmacists compounding drugs and furnishing medications to patients with special needs.
