Oct. 27: International opportunities discussed by USAID leader
PULLMAN, Wash. – Opportunities for students and for faculty collaborations in international development will be presented by the deputy director of the U.S. Agency for International Development at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Johnson Annex C107 at Washington State University.
Matthew Nims has over 17 years of international development and emergency programming experience, including water and sanitation with the Peace Corps and emergency food, health and HIV prevention, disaster response and energy and water infrastructure creation with USAID.
As deputy director of USAID’s Office of Food for Peace, he helps manage a $2 billion per year budget to address food insecurity worldwide in both emergency and development situations.
