Kruse named inaugural fellow of emission society

Norbert-KrusePULLMAN, Wash. – Norbert Kruse has been named an inaugural fellow of the International Field Emission Society (IFES) for his work in the development of catalytic processes for providing sustainable chemical feedstock under environmentally benign conditions using nanotechnology.

The Voiland Distinguished Professor in the Voiland School of Chemical Engineering and Bioengineering since 2013, he has been a member of IFES since 1979 and was president 2008-14. He is on the supervisory board of BOSAL Co., a worldwide manufacturer of catalytic converters and exhaust systems, and has served as chairman of the Congress on Catalysis and Automotive Pollution Control.

Kruse has published 170 articles and holds two patents. He has served as editor-in-chief of two journals, Catalysis Letters and Topics in the Catalysis. He holds a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Berlin after research studies at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society there.

IFES focuses on scientific and developments in high field nanoscience and atom probe tomography.
