Implementing strategic plan requires realigning resources

Perspectives-logoPULLMAN, Wash. – As we begin implementation of the new strategic plan, one thing is abundantly clear. We need to realign some of our financial resources to support the initiatives emanating from the plan.

Bolstering our research enterprise, as outlined in Theme 1, means increasing our investment in research. Ensuring the success of our students, as outlined in Theme 2, means allocating funding to establish or support programs that foster success.

I have informed university leadership that we will be engaging in a 5 percent internal reallocation process on PBL (permanent budget level) funds over the coming year to create a strategic reallocation pool of resources.
