Oct. 5-9: Open house for new Apple store on campus

Coretech signPULLMAN, Wash. – Coretech, WSU’s Apple authorized campus store, will host a week-long open house Oct. 5-9 on the ground floor of the Bookie. Drawings for two $150 coupons, ongoing workshops and giveaways for workshop participants will be offered.

Registration is not required for workshops. Workshops include:

* “Intro to Your Mac,” 2-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, and 3-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, including tips and tricks from Finder functionality to iCloud integration for students new to Apple computers.

* “Apple in the Home and Classroom,” 3-5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 6, about using Apple TV abilities to AirPlay and about bringing iTunes content to the classroom.

* Open house ceremony, 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, with digital ribbon cutting and light refreshments.

* IWork walkthrough 2-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, on iCloud integration, templates and layouts.  Registration is not required for any of the workshops.

Students, faculty and staff are eligible for Apple education pricing on some purchases at the store.

Coretech will soon add technology repair service: “Not having to drive anywhere or mail your device in and live without your laptop for weeks at a time is always good for college students,” said Andrea Dodge, store manager.
