PULLMAN, Wash. – Fruit DNA, climate change, smart environments and biofuels are just a few of the topics to be discussed at the 2015 Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Washington State University.
A free, public, keynote address by Lori Carris, associate dean of the Graduate School, will be at 9:30 a.m. in CUE 203. The poster session, featuring 80 students, will follow in the nearby CUE atrium. Refreshments will be served.
Students from several universities, including WSU, in the U.S., Brazil and Puerto Rico have spent 10 weeks at WSU working on faculty-mentored projects in many disciplines. Funding from the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Agriculture and faculty grants supported their research experiences.
“It has been exciting to see so many students from different colleges and countries conducting research side-by-side with WSU faculty and graduate students,” said Shelley Pressley, director of the WSU Office of Undergraduate Research. “Their work has had a significant impact on many current and important topics.”
