June 14: Students may petition to remove disciplinary violation

PULLMAN, Wash. – Students with a single disciplinary violation on their conduct record can petition to have it removed under a new Washington State University policy that goes into effect June 14.

“It is our hope that this will provide students who have a single interaction with the Office of Student Conduct with an incentive to maintain good academic and disciplinary standing throughout their academic career at WSU,” said Adam Jussel, OSC director and assistant dean of students.

The policy allows for removal of certain, specific records from a student’s conduct history once the student has completed all requirements associated with the conduct process.

Students may contact Jussel at 509-335-4532 with questions about which records can be removed and how to submit a petition.

“The vast majority of students have a single issue on their conduct record, and we want to provide those students with opportunities to have their record accurately reflect their good behavior,” Jussel said. “We are hopeful that this will help to uphold our community values and high standards for WSU students.”
