Video: Music school director featured on new jazz CD

CD-coverPULLMAN, Wash. – Greg Yasinitsky, Regents professor and director of the Washington State University School of Music, is featured on “Round the Korner,” a new CD recording by the Delbert Bump-Greg Yasinitsky Quintet.

The group is a jazz organ ensemble and the recording features soulful originals by organist Bump and saxophonist Yasinitsky. They have known each other for nearly 40 years, since meeting as students at San Francisco State University.

Bump has recorded seven CDs and has performed nationally, including appearances with former Herbie Hancock drummer Mike Clark.

Yasinitsky has performed around the world with some of the top figures in jazz, including Randy Brecker, Ed Calle, Sean Jones, Alex Acuna and more. He has more than 185 musical works published; they have been performed in more than 30 countries.

Yasinitsky and Bump plan to record a Latin jazz CD this fall.
