PULLMAN, Wash. – Nancy Shrope, assistant director in the Office of Grant and Research Development, received the 2014 Administrative Professional Contribution Award at Washington State University.
This annual award is given to an administrative professional employee to recognize contributions made to WSU and the employee’s work area or unit that have had a far reaching, impelling or compelling impact.
Shrope was nominated because, in addition to her exceptional work with faculty and graduate students in grant and research development, she demonstrates dedication to making WSU a better place for everyone through professional training, presentations and extensive committee work.
For example, she worked on the Transformational Leadership and Training Committee – a collection of faculty and staff interested in providing leadership training and opportunities for women faculty and graduate students. Shrope used her organizational skills to help fundraise, manage the budget and organize the training. She gave her time and experience, including on weekends, for several years.
“Nancy is committed to the personal growth and success of others,” said her nominators. “Once she gets to know someone, she finds ways to help them succeed. She has demonstrated her leadership in promoting, supporting and sustaining a diverse community of faculty, staff and students throughout her 30-year career at WSU.”
