RICHLAND, Wash. – Scott Koopman is the new manager of the Career Development Center at Washington State University Tri-Cities. He will develop a strategic plan for the center as a student resource beginning with orientation and beyond graduation.
“I feel very confident that we can improve students’ chances of success once they graduate college, whatever the next steps may be,” he said.
“Preparing students for career and internship opportunities is critical,” said Chris Meiers, vice chancellor of academic affairs. “Under Koopman’s leadership, the opportunities and services that the CDC provides to students and our community will continue to grow and flourish.”
Koopman has been CDC interim manager. He has worked at WSU Tri-Cities as a career coach and as program manager for STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) outreach.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in theology from Cascade College in Portland, Ore., and a master’s in business administration from WSU in December. He has worked at four other colleges and professional schools, was adjunct faculty at Liberty Christian School in Richland and has worked for more than 20 years full-time in Christian ministry.
