Student on safari: Blog chronicles month in Africa

By Madison Rosenbaum, WSU Tri-Cities student intern

McKenna-80RICHLAND, Wash. – Amie McKenna exchanged the neighborhood cat for a savanna lioness and the horse pastured down the road for an African zebra – and then shared the adventure via her blog posts.

The biological sciences student at Washington State University Tri-Cities recently returned from a month working and studying wildlife management and conservation in Tanzania with 32 other college students from across the United States.

In addition to daily routine and unexpected adventure, her blog offers insights into Tanzanian culture, global awareness, and research and conservation efforts to restore and maintain the balance between plants, animals and humans in Africa. Photos capture the sweeping landscape and exotic wildlife.
