Accounting chapter earns award for professional activities

Pearson-N-2013-80PULLMAN, Wash. – For the 13th year in a row, the Washington State University chapter of an honors business fraternity has been recognized internationally as a superior chapter.

“The Delta Epsilon Chapter has far exceeded the baseline requirements of Beta Alpha Psi and has excelled in the areas of academics, professionalism and leadership,” said Blane Ruschak, national president of Beta Alpha Psi, a fraternity for accounting, finance and information systems students and professionals.

The chapter is advised by accounting instructor Nori Pearson. It has been active since the mid 1980s.

To achieve superior status, the WSU chapter hosted professional activities such as Meet the Firms Night; seminars and workshops featuring alumni speakers; recruiting events to inform students about the accounting profession; and volunteer opportunities with community organizations.
