WSU Vancouver’s ‘Salmon Creek Journal’ receives regional print design award

salmon-creek-journal-logo-80VANCOUVER, Wash. – The Washington State University Vancouver 2013 “Salmon Creek Journal” was awarded first place in the student category of the Pacific Printing Industries Print ROCKS! award. The award recognizes excellence in the design, production and manufacturing of print material on the West Coast.

The journal is the annual literary and arts journal for WSU Vancouver. It represents the interests and talents of the campus community by allowing students, faculty, staff and alumni to publish their creative works including visual art, poetry and prose.

Students involved in creating the 2013 edition include: Isabela J. Oliveira, editor in chief; Kerry Layne Jeffrey, prose editor; Kimberly Lawrence, visual arts editor; Janae Green, poetry editor; Kyle C. Schaeffer, design and layout, and Cambri Shanahan, marketing. David Menchaca, assistant professor in the College of Arts and Sciences, is advisor to the “Salmon Creek Journal.”
