All-campus picnic, convocation start off new semester

PULLMAN, Wash. – Two back-to-school traditions – convocation and the all-campus picnic – will be held at Washington State University Pullman on Friday, Aug. 16. Convocation will begin at 10 a.m. in Beasley Coliseum. The picnic will be 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Mooberry Track.

Dining Services and New Student Programs host the annual picnic. Last year more than 5,000 participants celebrated the new academic year while enjoying a barbecue lunch, music and the community fair.

Convocation brings the WSU community together to celebrate the new academic year and to welcome new staff, faculty, students and their families.
