Finance leader to speak, receive top alumni award

PULLMAN – A nationally recognized leader in investment management will be presented with WSU’s highest alumni award and will speak at a free public lecture series he established at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, in the CUB auditorium.
 
Gary P. Brinson (’68 MBA) is known for his intellectual contributions to the financial investing world. He is founder and head of Brinson Partners Inc., president of GP Brinson Investments, and chairman of the Brinson Foundation.
He established the Gary P. Brinson Distinguished Lecture in Finance series at WSU and will deliver the 10th anniversary address. He will speak on “Investment Markets: Past, Present and Prospective.”

WSU President Elson S. Floyd and the WSU Board of Regents will present the 2010 Regents’ Distinguished Alumnus Award to Brinson. The award is the highest honor the university bestows on alumni.
