Murrow College names chief area finance officer

PULLMAN- Denise Blacker, director of administrative services for the College of Sciences, has been appointed chief area finance officer for The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, effective Aug. 16.  
 
Denise holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from WSU. She has served at WSU for 21 years in a variety of roles, including fiscal technician supervisor in Accounts Payable; accounting supervisor in Sponsored Programs Services; business manager in Educational Telecommunications and Technology; and administrative manager and finance officer in the dean’s office at the College of Sciences. 
 
Prior to coming to WSU, Denise worked in the banking world as a loan officer and  financial specialist.
 
“She has a wealth of knowledge of WSU’s business and financial systems and is a strong supporter of Northwest Public Radio and Television,” said Murrow College Dean Lawrence Pintak. “We look forward to Denise’s strong fiscal and managerial expertise to lead our business office and staff.”
