PULLMAN – Faculty, staff, students and their families are invited to attend the 2010 University Convocation, 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at Beasley Performing Arts Coliseum.
 
Each year, University Convocation brings the WSU community together to celebrate the new academic year, and to welcome new staff, faculty, students and their families to WSU.
 
Speakers this year include:
  • Elson S. Floyd, WSU president
  • Warwick M. Bayly, provost and executive vice president
  • Christian Wuthrich, dean of students
  • Brian Kemp, assistant professor with the department of anthropology and the School of Biological Sciences
 
At the conclusion of the ceremony, at approximately 11 a.m., faculty, staff, and new and returning students are invited to attend the 26th All-Campus Picnic on the Mooberry Track.  Food is free for all faculty, staff and students carrying their WSU Cougar Card.
 
Convocation is just one of the events taking place on the Pullman campus during the Week of Welcome (WOW), starting Aug. 18. Classes at WSU will begin Aug. 23 on all four campuses – Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver.
