Graduates encouraged to attend BBQ Bash

PULLMAN – The WSU Alumni Association will host the 2010 Graduates Barbeque Bash at 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, at the Lewis Alumni Center between Wilson Road and Grimes Way.

This annual event welcomes graduates into the alumni family with door prizes, giveaways, games, music and an appearance by Butch T. Cougar. Graduates also receive a set of five free moving boxes while supplies last. Last year’s celebration was attended by 1,900 graduates, friends and family members.

As part of the festivities, the Student Alumni Ambassadors will announce winners of the Big Ten Seniors Awards. This recently revived awards program began in the early 1900s, and continues a long-time WSU tradition by recognizing five men and five women seniors. Honorees are noted for their excellence in one of five categories: Academics, Athletics, Campus Involvement, Community Service and Visual/Performing Arts.

The barbeque is free for all Spring 2010 graduates, and friends and family are invited to attend for $5.
