WSU Today online traffic up 7,000 percent

Traffic at WSU Today online, www.wsutoday.wsu.edu, has grown substantially over the past three years from 300 visitors a month to 24,000 in January.

And there’s a good reason. In addition to providing university news — updated on a daily basis — it also offers up-to-the-minute headlines and live links to stories from the WSU News Service and WSU Cougar Athletics.

Recent additions to the site (located in the right column) are graphic links to The Weather Channel, Northwest Public Radio, C-Span radio (allowing online listeners to hear news events unfold live, without opinions and bias from commentators), and Washington Highway Conditions.

WSU Today also offers:
• links to 14 college and campus news websites (Washington State Magazine, WSU Calendar, CAHNRS, etc.)
• links to more than 30 regional and national news sites, including the Seattle Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, Seattle PI, Tacoma Tribune, Chicago Tribune, Washington Times, London Times, CNN, BBC, USA Today, etc.
• a searchable database of WSU Today news articles
• an archive of full-length WSU Today issues in PDF format
• a national directory of colleges and universities
• an Events at Beasley link (right column)
• book reviews (links to four national newspapers, right column)

So, for a quick way to catch up on WSU news, or news relating to your job, department or college, check out WSU Today online, www.wsutoday.wsu.edu.
