WSU is resurrecting its annual safety fair and giving it a broader focus to include health and security.

The university hosted a safety fair until 2008 and recently recommitted to improve and recognize the safety, health, and security programs that protect WSU’s students, employees, and visitors.

The revived and expanded event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 28 in the CUB Senior Ballroom in Pullman. It features vendor displays and an awards ceremony recognizing several WSU employees and others for their safety, health and security related accomplishments.

President Kirk Schulz will present the awards following opening remarks during the noon hour.

The awards presentation will serve to spotlight individual efforts and accomplishments demonstrating how overall safety, health and security is a part of the WSU culture.

More than a dozen booths, with university and local emergency responders, university health and safety departments, and vendors for employee safety and health, will be available to provide useful tips and information for students, employees, and visitors.

Vendors for the event include: Cintas, Cougar Safe Rides, Design Effects, WSU Environmental Health and Safety(EHS) Environmental Services, EHS Ergonomics, Grainger, OpenSquare, WSU Office of Research Assurances (ORS), ORA Radiation Safety, Pullman Fire, Pullman Police, Thermofischer, University Stores, VWR, Women’s Studies, WSU Police.
