PULLMAN, Wash. – Don Trunkey, a professor emeritus of surgery at the Oregon Health Science University, has been presented with the WSU Alumni Association’s Alumni Achievement Award in recognition of his influential career and contributions to medical education, surgical methods and trauma care.

PULLMAN, Wash. – A new online career database named “Handshake” will go live July 1 for Washington State University students and potential employers. It will replace the current “CougLink” system.

RICHLAND, Wash. – Don Miller, CEO of Gesa Credit Union, will be honored with Washington State University Tri-Cities’ Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award in recognition of his service, career achievements and dedication to the promotion of educational excellence.
Miller will be presented with the award during the 2017 WSU Tri-Cities commencement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Toyota Center in Kennewick, Wash.

RICHLAND, Wash. – Alejandra Cardoso, a recent graduate of Washington State University Tri-Cities, was chosen as one of three representatives from Washington state to participate in the Council for Opportunity in Education’s National Policy Seminar March 19-22 in Washington, D.C.

PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University professor and alumnus Yong Wang has won the American Chemical Society’s annual Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Division fellow award. A symposium in his honor will be held during the society’s national meeting in New Orleans in March.
VANCOUVER, Wash. – Washington State University Vancouver graduate Gregory K. Walker has received from the Fulbright U.S. Student Program an English teaching assistant (ETA) award to teach in Spain.
