The free performance will include works by Vaughan Williams, Mackey, Persichetti, Grainger, and Reed. The Symphonic Wind Ensemble will premiere professor David Jarvis’ “Diagonals” from his Wynwood Suite #2 for Wind Ensemble, and also feature professor Julie Wieck, soprano, singing Bernard Gilmore’s “Five Songs for Soprano and Band.”

The first presentation of the university’s new Presidential Innovation and Outreach Speakers Series will feature Judith Giordan, co-founder of the Chemical Angels Network and an entrepreneur and former Fortune 100 executive. The presentation is set for 3:30 p.m. Monday, October 9, in Fulmer Hall, Room 201, on the Pullman campus.
Faculty members Meredith Arksey violin, Ruth Boden cello, Jeffrey Savage piano, will perform three works: Joseph Haydn’s Trio No. 39 in G Major, nicknamed the “Gypsy” with its iconic Rondo a l’Ongarese, Enrique Arbόs’ “Three Pieces in the Spanish Style” and Felix Mendelssohn’s D Minor Trio.
