Dr. Christopher Keane, Vice President for Research, recently announced David Clark, Director of the Office of Research Assurances (ORA) will be leaving WSU October 10 to pursue other career opportunities. Dr. Keane also appointed Michael Kluzik as  Interim Director of ORA. Mike can be contacted at mkluzik@wsu.edu or 335-9553.  The University thanks Dave for his years of outstanding service to WSU, and congratulates Mike on his new appointment.

 

 

Originating in Pullman, this course is available via AMS. This course, taking place from 9-11:30 a.m., is one of many WSU Fiscal Management Training Resources. It provides a high level overview of the purpose and inter-relationship of such WSU mainframe accounting systems as DEPPS, BALANCES, FACTS, SCBAIMS, PROPERTY, PAPR, BRS, BPS. It is with deep regret that the Department of Chemistry at WSU announces the passing of our friend and colleague, Professor James Satterlee. Since 1989 Jim has been a dedicated researcher and a highly admired educator in this department.

We are pleased to host Dr. Steve Alam, from the University of Utah, to present Dr. Satterlee’s latest research. (more…)

The WSU Men’s Volleyball Club team is hosting an Indoor Volleyball 4-on-4 Reverse Co-Eds tournament on Saturday, October 11th at Bohler Gym.

$40 entry fee for the team ($10 per person). Prizes are given to First and Second place winners. All matches will start at 9:00 am with Pool Play and then Bracket play will be in the afternoon. (more…)

Do you like caviar, sashimi, sushi or other seafood?  We are looking for volunteers to evaluate sensory properties of caviar (you don’t have to have experience with caviar but be interested in tasting it).  You need to be at least 18 years of age to participate.

The test will take about 10-15 minutes of your time.

On Wednesday, October 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in CUB 406, members of the Palouse River Rollers will lead a workshop discussing embracing one’s true self, embracing one’s sexuality, embracing one’s body, learning to embrace others, and learning how to become open minded.  This program is tied into GIESORC’s campus campaign entitled, “It Starts Now!”  All are welcomed to attend.

Learn how to capture the perfect moment in the outdoors with photography lessons from the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC). We’ll teach you the basic skills of framing, composition, utilization of natural and artificial light sources, as well as how to protect your gear from the elements. No experience is necessary. Learn to save a life! University Recreation is offering one final course in October for American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED certification with the option for First Aid certification. The class is on Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and registration ends Oct. 12. The class takes place at the Student Recreation Center (SRC) in Room 144. Come learn the ins and outs of your bike’s shifters and derailleurs! On Oct. 9, the Outdoor Recreation Center will teach you how these components work and how to adjust them. The clinic is $5 for SRC members and $10 for nonmembers. The session runs from 5-7 p.m. DIY workshops were developed to be taken individually or as a whole—there are 6 sessions in total.
