Open to all students, and free to attend, the Office of International Programs annual Spring Global Learning Fair will take place, Wednesday, March 8, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the CUE Atrium.
The event will provide information for students to globalize their education through Education Abroad, the Global Leadership Certificate, the Global Case Competition and other exciting ways to go global!
There will be over 15 representatives from education abroad providers and WSU programs with opportunities to study, intern, and volunteer around the world. Students can learn about financing education abroad through scholarships, partnership discounts, and financial aid, while entering to win 50 percent off their WSU education abroad application fee!
Sarah Earhart, long time Facilities Services employee, and HR Manager for this department, will be moving on to the University of Idaho to continue her career in Facilities Human Resources. Please join us on Thursday, March 9th, 2:00-4:00pm, McCluskey Services Building on Grimes Way, in the main reception area, for refreshments and conversation with Sarah. This will be our opportunity to celebrate her 29 years of service to WSU, and wish her well in her new endeavor.

The Piano Pedagogy Lab School at WSU is offering free introductory piano lessons to a limited number of participating children as part of the student teacher training for the MUS 498 course. Volunteer students should be between the ages of 7-9 and have had no previous piano lessons. All necessary materials will be provided, and each student will receive three weekly 30-minute private lessons. Students should have daily access to a piano or keyboard to participate. Human Resource Services will be cancelling the Pre-Retirement seminar scheduled for March 6, 2017. The Department of Retirement Systems (DRS) will be holding a Pre-Retirement Session from 8:30 – 10:00 in Lighty 405 on March 3, 2017, which for PERS/TRS/LEOFF plan participants will cover most of the same information normally provided in the HRS presentations. For more details on the DRS presentations please visit our website.
The HRS Pre-Retirement seminars are held on a monthly basis, with the next session scheduled for April 5, 2017. Additional dates/times will be available here.

What is leadership? What is your leadership style? This course looks at a variety of leadership styles and theories, with an emphasis upon the application of Blanchard’s Situational Leadership model. Recommended for all WSU supervisors, this course takes place March 7, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.

The WSU Treble Choir and WSU Tenor/Bass Choir, both directed by Dr. Dean Luethi, will present “A Tale of Love” on Tuesday February 28 at 8:00 PM in Bryan Hall Theater. This semi-staged production takes the audience member through the story of two lovers. Through emails we begin to understand their relationship, difficulties, desires, and how love stands the test of time. The performances by the choirs reflect the emotional delight, distaste, and desperation throughout the characters’ journey together.
